The Design and Manufacturing Division, which is located in the Ishikawadai Area of the Ookayama Campus and the Suzukakedai Campus, contributes to research and provides a machining service that serves the entire University.
Their main functions are listed below.
- Educational support such as practical lessons
- Self-use and machine work by request

- Technical intern training guidance and safety guidance from departments
- Machine tool maintenance

There are three ways through which the department's machining equipment can be used: work requests, self-service, and special self-service. Additionally, the machining equipment is divided into two classifications, Class A (self-service permitted) and Class B (self-service not permitted), based on the skills required, and so on. The use of any equipment requires the requesting teacher to submit an application form. Fees are determined based on a fee table.
